When Europe came for tea (well hot chocolate)

European partners involved in a lake learning exchange programme visited us in February to see how we do partnership in the Lakes. We were part of a wider programme which gave us a chance to show off some of what we and our brilliant partners have been up to! Our visitors enjoyed cake and hot chocolate and the views on a fantastically sunny winter’s day on quieter western side of Windermere. They saw how the work we’re delivering with the National Trust to improve access and information is also providing economic benefits as more people are taking a boat or bike to the western shore. We took them on a boat trip, talked about some of the issues partnership working is helping improve, showed off some of our education tools and Ambleside’s Roman fort. Thanks to our partners for helping us do our bit to make the visitors trip enjoyable and beneficial much discussion was had comparing countries experiences with the emphasis on ‘partnerships’ as a great way to resolve complex issues.
