We’ve had a fantastic start to our tree planting season this year with 80 volunteers joining us at two National Trust sites on the western shore of Windermere where we have already planted way over 1000 trees including juniper, oak, hazel, rowan, hawthorn and yew. Volunteers from the Lake District National Park, the National Trust and Windermere Reflections have all joined forces to create these new woodlands which will help reduce run off and erosion on the hills and improve the biodiversity of the woods … so good news all round.
Thanks too to pupils from Lakes School and Windermere School for their hard work.
We’ve got lots more trees to plant so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to help out in Jan and Feb 2014! Keep a look out on our website or join us on twitter (W_Reflections) and facebook (WindermereReflections) for firm details of where and when to come
